Hermann Teddy Bears 'produces bears that are sought after worldwide and that are distinguished from all other bears by the expressions on their faces, notes Margit Drolshagen, Teddy-Hermann's joint managing director. "This is a serious but friendly look-open and frank-mixed with a touch of astonishment and knowledge," explains Drolshagen. "With its high forehead, mostly vertical stitched nose and brown or black eyes, this characteristic face is a mirror of all the love and joy put into each individual bear in Hirschaid." While longtime collectors know the Teddy-Hermann bears very well, Drolshagen suggests that new collectors should always look for the red seal with HERMANN Teddy ORIGINAL written in gold, which will assure them of the real thing. Since 1994, the firm also affixes a small version of this seal to each bear's neck. '

Macsween Haggis' - Macsween of Edinburgh is a Scottish family business which specialises in the production of traditional haggis, the national dish of Scotland.

Great care is taken in the making of this particularly Scottish delicacy and only the finest ingredients are used. Lamb, beef, oatmeal, onion, and a special blend of seasoning and spices are all cooked together in a natural casing to produce the unique Macsween haggis.

Lamb, beef, oatmeal, onion, and a special blend of seasoning and spices are all cooked together in a natural casing to produce the unique Macsween haggis. Immortalised by the Scottish poet, Robert Burns, the haggis is one of Scotland's most celebrated products. The Burns supper is celebrated on the 25th January, the anniversary of the poet’s birthday.

The haggis is the culinary centrepiece of the evening, borne in by the chef and preceded by a kilted piper. The Address to a Haggis is duly recited, during which the haggis is ceremoniously stabbed with a sharp knife or dagger.

A challenge was issued by the Scottish Poetry Library for their opening ceremony in 1984 - Would Mr. Macsween make a vegetarian haggis? A satisfactory recipe was devised and widespread interest after the event encouraged production on a commercial scale. The vegetarian haggis was launched on the market to cries of horror and amazement - the poems and letters or approval are still flowing and it is now 'Vegetarian Society Approved'.

The earliest references to Haggis date back to ancient Greek texts.

Clarissa Dickson Wright in her book, The Haggis, a Little History, claims the dish may well have come to Scotland in a Viking longboat around the time of the Nordic invasions in the ninth century.'
